Ask Bucknell University to End Cruel Experiments on Hamsters!

School is officially back in session for many students across the country. While this is an exciting time for students to meet up with friends they haven't seen in awhile, it is no fun for the thousands of animals who will be used in cruel classroom experiments at U.S. colleges and universities.

For the past 30 years, Bucknell University Professor Owen Floody has been drilling holes into the skulls of female hamsters, damaging their brains, and observing the injuries' effects on the hamsters' sexual behavior. Once the experiments are done, these sensitive, intelligent hamsters are killed, and their brains are dissected.

It is time for Professor Floody to abandon this outdated and deadly exercise. There are many humane non-animal teaching methods that are readily available and used in courses similar to his at other universities.

Please take a moment of your time to speak up for the hamsters who are suffering in these cruel experiments at Bucknell University.

Thank you for all that you've done, and will continue to do, to help animals.

I have 2 of them and they are the sweetest of the sweet! but I guess you wouldn't understand nor care about that! Try your experiments on someone you don't like instead!

I am appalled by this horifying abuse that is done to innocent little hamsters as well as other animals.  Would you allow your child to be experimented on?  Would you watch your child get experimented on?  NO YOU WOULD NOT & animals feel pain just like we humans do.  PLease stop this experimenting on live hamsters & live animals whereas there are many other forms of experiments to use that is not #1 living animals, #2 is not alive.

We have vast power over animals, and with such power comes great responsibility. We can choose to be kind and merciful or cruel and abusive. Kindness and mercy are values that exemplify the best of the human spirit.

    because i believe:

"For as long as men massacre animals, they will kill each other. Indeed, he who sows the seed of murder and pain cannot reap joy and love."   Pythagoras

There are other ways to find answers than through hurting animals.
